Uber and Lyft with Bitcoin: Ride Gift Cards for Travellers
From the airport to the hotel without a bank card — how ride gift cards work, country by country.

Rides are the first thing you pay for in a new city and the last thing you want to fumble a foreign card over. A ride gift card solves it before you land: buy the Uber or Lyft card on GiftQubes with Bitcoin, USDT, USDC or 25+ coins and networks, redeem the code in the app, and every ride is paid from that balance until it runs out.
How the balance works
Uber calls it Uber Cash, Lyft calls it Lyft Cash, Bolt and Careem call it a balance, Ola calls it Ola Money. In every case the gift card value sits in the app's wallet and is charged for trips automatically, tips and fees included, with the app's backup payment method covering anything beyond the balance. Uber's balance also pays for Uber Eats where it operates; Lyft's covers scooters and bikes. None of them expire.
The one rule: account country
Ride apps keep a wallet per country, and a gift card only redeems into an account registered in the country it was issued for. GiftQubes writes the region on every card — United States, United Kingdom, EU countries, UAE for Careem, India for Ola — and repeats it at checkout. Buy the card for the country your account is in, not the country you are flying to. Once redeemed, the balance belongs to your account and is charged for trips wherever the app's rules allow.
Which app where
- United States — Uber and Lyft; both cards in USD.
- United Kingdom and Europe — Uber (UK and EU cards) and Bolt in 45+ countries.
- UAE and the Middle East — Careem, which also covers food and groceries.
- India — Ola and Rapido, in rupees.
Stocking up pays
A $100 Uber card for a month of commutes costs less at the Qube Price than ten separate top-ups, and it still pays ride by ride. For a trip, a $50–$100 card covers the airport runs and a few evenings out; whatever is left waits for the next trip.
